The legal aid bill for Chris Kahui has increased to more than $500,000 following a recent Coroner's Court hearing into the deaths of his sons Chris and Cru.
Mr Kahui was found not guilty of killing the babies after a trial in 2008.
In July, Coroner, Gary Evans found the fatal injuries suffered by the twins happened while they were in the sole care of Mr Kahui.
Mr Kahui's legal aid for the hearing was $43,388.
He has also received legal aid worth about $12,500 for Family Court proceedings and $460,000 for District Court proceedings since 2006.
