Govt considering ferry terminal plan for Clifford Bay

7:58 pm on 13 September 2012

The Government says it is considering a business case to establish an inter-island ferry terminal at Clifford Bay in the South Island.

Answering questions on behalf of the Transport Minister in Parliament on Thursday, Maurice Williamson said the Government received an independent report in July 2011 that found there may be a financial and economic case for Clifford Bay in Marlborough.

Mr Williamson said Transport Minister Steven Joyce is considering a detailed business case received at the end of August and has asked for further work to be undertaken.
