Waikato police have released the name of a baby girl who died in Hamilton late last week.
Shannon Lee Tai-Rakena, who was five months old, was taken from her home in Hamilton East to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition on Thursday evening, but died the next morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene of the Waikato CIB says the results of a post-mortem examination in Auckland on Saturday are still not available and her death is being treated as unexplained.
A scene examination of the house where the child lived has been completed.
