Two men have now been charged with the manslaughter of a man who died in a driveway in the Hutt Valley suburb of Taita.

Harlem Turi, 31, appeared in the Lower Hutt District Court on Tuesday afternoon charged with the manslaughter of Michael Mulholland and was remanded in custody until 11 October.

Earlier in the day, Desmond Leaf, 30, appeared in the court for a second time also charged with manslaughter.

Mr Mulholland, who was 52, was found unconscious in a Farmer Crescent driveway on 20 September and died shortly after.

Mr Leaf, who also faces charges of driving while disqualified and breaching bail, applied for bail but that hearing has been deferred pending further matters, including the presentation in court of a pathology report. He will reappear on 9 October.
