The Supreme Court has turned down an attempt by a woman to appeal against her conviction for murdering her three-year-old foster son.
Patricia Pickering was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to spend at least 17 years in jail, for murdering Dylan Rimoni in Auckland in 2008.
A post-mortem showed the child had old head injuries and unusual bruising and scarring.
The Supreme Court says it has considered the grounds of appeal, and dismissed them.
