A post-mortem has been completed on a soldier whose body was recovered from a lake near Waiouru on Tuesday.
Private Michael Ross, 29, of Kaitaia, fell out of an inflatable boat while on a training exercise on Lake Moawhango on 25 September.
His body will be returned to his family on Wednesday.
Police say the results of the post-mortem will form part of the coronial inquiry.
