The Maritime Union hopes a rally by waterfront workers on Friday will show people in Auckland that a year-long industrial dispute is not over.
Ports of Auckland and the union are in mediation over a collective agreement.
President Garry Parsloe said union members will meet at 2pm on a shift changeover at Teal Park.
He said the demonstration will be a visible reminder to Aucklanders that the dispute is continuing.
Mr Parsloe said the company and the union are going back to facilitation later this month.
Ports of Auckland said operations won't be disrupted by the event.
