A New Zealand yachtie who was rescued off Norfolk Island yesterday is expected to fly home on Christmas day.
Rewi Kemp was found clinging to a rock off the Norfolk coast more than 12 hours after his yacht Moonshadow was wrecked.
Residents of the island started searching for him when wreckage including a liferaft and lifejacket washed ashore.
Senior Constable Rod Cannan from the Norfolk Island police believes the story of the Christmas Eve rescue will be told for a long time yet.
