The online auction site TradeMe is expecting a surge in listings from people trying to sell unwanted Christmas presents for cash.
The website says the phenomenon, known as "re-gifting", has become popular in recent years.
TradeMe spokesman Mike O'Donnell says there is usually a spike in the number of auctions in the two weeks following Christmas Day.
