A Wellington man wanted over a throat slashing attack in Nelson remains at large.
Detective Sergeant Mark Kaveney says Steven Keith Pengelly was at the victim's house on Washington Valley Road in Nelson on Friday when the attack took place, causing the wounded man to flee for help, bleeding profusely.
The victim is in a stable condition in Nelson hospital.
Police warn that Pengelly, 39, is considered very dangerous and should not be approached.
