Three men have been arrested after neighbours reported shots in Upper Hutt.

Police were called to a Blueberry Grove house before midday on Monday after residents reported hearing up to five gunshots.

Senior Sergeant Brent Murray says three men were seen running from the house which had damage, including broken windows.

A man was found at a nearby house and two others were found at another house a short time later.

Mr Murray says police found a firearm during their search, but cannot confirm it was involved in the incident.
