Qantas is not reducing its fuel charges for flights within New Zealand despite dropping all domestic surcharges in Australia.
The airline announced on Tuesday that it would cut the surcharge of $A18 from 1 January in response to falling international oil prices
But a spokesperson for the airline says New Zealand fuel surcharges will remain in place, though he would not detail why.
However, the Travel Agents Association says fomestic airfares should be dropping more than they are in the wake of falling international oil prices.
Chief Executive Paul Yeo says that if overseas airlines can drop fuel surcharges, the same should be happening in New Zealand.
