A man is in hospital after trying to evade police in Rotorua by hiding in a thermal pool.
Two police dog handlers tracked a man suspected stealing from cars to the Sulphur Flats area at 3pm on Friday.
Police say he got out of the pool and was handcuffed, but tried to escape again by diving into another pool.
He had to be rescued by one of the officers.
