Police in Te Anau have named a man who died on Friday while working to clear the Milford Road.
Graham Robert Brown, 67, of Dunedin, sustained head injuries in an accident involving a compressed air hose. Two others received minor injuries.
The road, the only one in and out of Milford, was blocked by hundreds of tonnes of rocks brought down by a major landslide on the night of 12 October.
The road was temporarily reopened on Thursday but has since been closed again and will remain that way until further notice.
