Fire fighters were busy in Christchurch on Sunday morning with three fires, one of which is thought to have been deliberately lit.
The Fire Service says there were two house fires, one in Kaiapoi at 12.50am and another in Dallington at 3.30am.
Both buildings were severely damaged by flames but nobody was hurt or trapped by the blazes.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
Fire crews were also called out to a fire which a shed and garage were also destroyed in Bromley at 1.45am.
The Fire Service says the blaze may have been deliberately lit.
