Two men have walked away unharmed after their gyrocopter crashed into Tauranga harbour.
Emergency services say the men waded out of the water 200 metres from the end of the runway at Tauranga airport after the aircraft crashed from a height of 500 metres into shallow water just after take-off at 1.30pm on Wednesday.
The men are believed to be aged in their 60s.
One of them was taken to hospital as a precaution, but emergency services say neither is believed to be seriously injured.
