Emergency services were sent to Christchurch Airport after reports of a strange odour in a plane.
Airport staff alerted emergency services, including the fire service, on Friday morning.
A Fire Communications spokesperson says crews were on standby at the airport, awaiting a Jetstar flight from Wellington.
The plane landed safely and all emergency crews were been stood down.
It appears the problem was smoke in the cockpit.
