Auckland will have two big international sporting events on consecutive weekends next year.
The city will host the opening round of the international triathlon series in April, a week before the Australian V8 supercar series comes to town.
The triathlon is expected to bring 4500 overseas people, and the motorsport event 21,000 visitors.
ATEED events agency chief executive Brett O'Reilly says both events happen during the tourism off-peak season and will fit together well.
