Police believe alcohol was a factor in a fatal road crash in Northland in which a 19-year-old man was killed and six people were injured.
Police say the car lost control when it took an S-bend on Pouto Road in Dargaville too fast and crashed about 1am on Sunday.
Seven men were crammed into the sedan, including two in the boot, and several passengers were flung from the car as it flipped onto its roof.
Three of the injured are in a serious condition in Whangarei Hospital.
