Housing plan not seen as realistic

A think tank is critical of Labour's affordable housing plan for failing to take the role of councils into account.

The New Zealand Initiative is an amalgamation of the Business Round Table and the New Zealand Institute.

Spokesperson Luke Malpass told Morning Report that Labour's plan to build 10,000 houses per year for 10 years is unrealistic, because councils don't want so much development in their areas as they are worried about infrastructure not coping.
