The search for three fishermen missing off the coast of Kiribati has failed to find any sign of the group.
An Air Force Orion was dispatched from Auckland on Sunday to search for the three men who are three days overdue from a fishing trip.
Maritime New Zealand senior search and rescue officer Mike Roberts says the Orion searched the sea south off Tarawa Island for about four hours on Sunday afternoon.
He says searchers used radar to scour the area but found nothing.
The search will resume at first light on Monday.
