An eyewitness to a fatal hit-and-run in South Auckland says the victim had blood coming from her ears and head after she was hit.

A preliminary hearing has started at Manukau District Court for seven men who the Crown says were involved in the death of Joanne Wang, 39, in June last year.

The alleged driver, Christopher Shadrock, 22, is charged with murder, stealing her bag and cash and stealing the vehicle she was struck with.

Six other men face charges of taking the handbag and of being an accessory after her death.

Shop assistant Janice Brown told the hearing on Monday that she saw a vehicle knock Mrs Wang down and drive over her left side.
