A pregnant Whangarei teenager who went on the run after she was twice caught allegedly drink-driving is back in custody.
The 14-year-old, who is about four months pregnant, was taken into the custody of Child, Youth and Family after the first incident but ran away.
She was later found, then ran away again from a residential home in Auckland on Monday.
Police on Tuesday appealed to the girl to turn herself in, and found her at her home in Whangarei on Wednesday.
Child Youth and Family said the girl will now be placed in its most secure facility, to protect her and unborn child.
