Four people were taken by helicopter to Hawke's Bay hospital in Hastings on Sunday morning, after a crash on State Highway Two.
The accident happened on a bend about 7km north of Wairoa.
All four people in the car are men aged between 16 - 22.
Three have moderate to serious injuries and the fourth was less seriously injured.
