A man has been remanded in custody over an attack which left a Waitara taxi driver in a coma.
Tony Brosnan, 49, was found with critical head injuries locked in the boot of his cab at Urenui Primary School, near New Plymouth, almost a fortnight ago.
A 28-year-old man from New Plymouth, who was found in Auckland, appeared in North Shore District Court on Wednesday.
He was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
Mr Brosnan is now in a stable condition at Taranaki Base Hospital.
