Interim appointment as search for ACC head continues

2:11 pm on 4 December 2012

The search is continuing for a permanent replacement for the head of the Accident Compensation Corporation.

Chief executive Ralph Stewart will leave his job later this month and a former chairman of the New Zealand Superannuation Scheme, David May, has been named as acting chief executive.

ACC chairperson Paula Rebstock says the recruitment process is well underway but it is likely to be several months before a permanent appointment is made.

She says Mr May will provide the leadership needed at ACC as it continues to deal with the aftermath of the privacy breaches revealed earlier this year.
