Inquiries continue into car salesman's death

7:19 pm on 5 December 2012

Police investigating the death of a car salesman whose body was found in a burnt-out vehicle say they are continuing to piece together his movements in the days before his death.

Shane Malcolm Bell was last seen at his home in the Christchurch suburb of Dallington on Thursday.

The 28-year-old's body was found in a car in Loburn, North Canterbury, on Sunday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer says investigators have been reviewing Mr Bell's movements, cellphone records and contacts with people.

Police would like to speak with anyone who had any interaction or contact with Mr Bell, especially on Thursday.

Mr Archer says the investigation remains a suspicious death - as it has been from the outset - and police have an open mind as to what happened.
