An internet consultant says reports of hotmail and other e-mail accounts being hacked into are becoming more common.
Some e-mail users report their accounts are being hacked with spam messages sent to everyone on their contacts list.
Consultant Adam Boileau of Wellington says hackers are becoming increasingly more cunning and people need to use their common sense.
He says e-mail users should question why they are being sent various mail and offers before opening them.
