Migrant exploitation charges

Six people accused of exploiting migrant labour appeared in Wellington District Court on Monday.

They face a total of 25 charges including providing false information, obstruction of justice and exploiting people who are entitled to work here.

All were remanded on bail until next month and given interim name suppression.

Two of the accused are sisters and one is married to a co-defendant.

They worked for an immigration consultancy and lived in Wellington.
