A tavern was badly damaged by fire in Nelson overnight.
The Fire Service said the building, in Waimea Road, was well alight when crews arrived just before 1am on Tuesday.
Five fire trucks took three hours to put out the blaze.
Police said the fire appears to be suspicious.
