Power has been fully restored in the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne areas.
Power across Hawke's Bay and the Gisborne area was cut after a transformer fault occurred at a Transpower substation on the outskirts of Napier at about 9.45am on Tuesday.
But lines companies, Unison and Eastland Network, say the problem has been resolved, and all customers are reconnected.
