Police have found the body of a man who went missing while canoeing on Lake Te Anau in Southland.
The 24-year-old tourist was found at Brod Bay, a short distance from his canoe.
A helicopter search began after the man failed to meet up with friends for dinner on Friday evening as planned.
Police have yet to name the tourist, who they say had been wearing a life jacket and had gone onto the lake in a red canoe described as an old fibreglass model.
