11:07 pm on 27 December 2012

A website displaying images of people the Wellington and Eastern District police want to track down and arrest has proved so successful that theother 10 police districts are adopting it in the new year.

Wellington police district's intelligence manager, Eric Tibbott, says the Most Wanted website has had 150,000 visits since its launch in June.

He says people whose faces appeared on the site have turned themselves in, and tips about addresses or places of work have also been received.

Mr Tibbott says the police have so far found everyone whose identity was publicised on the website.
