Police are re-interview a woman who was raped in Nelson.
The woman, 62, has head and facial injuries from the attack in the Victory Community Gardens on the afternoon of New Year's Day.
A police spokesperson said they hope to obtain more details about the identity of her attacker by talking to the woman again.
Forensic experts finished an examination of the scene on Wednesday and the evidence collected has been sent away for urgent analysis.
Police will continue to door knock and patrol the area around Victory Community Gardens on Thursday.
