An Auckland man is to be extradited to Australia on a murder charge.

Daniel Thomas Dwyer was found dead in August last year in his flat at Biggera Waters on the Gold Coast.

David Galloway, 19, was arrested in a house at Glenfield on Saturday. He is one of three people charged with Mr Dwyer's murder.

He appeared in North Shore District Court on Tuesday, where he was ordered to face the charge in Australia.

Extradition was not opposed. Two Australian detectives were in court and will escort him to Surfers Paradise.

Mr Galloway's lawyer,Gary Gotlieb, says his client has been co-perative with Australian police and planned to fight the allegations

He says Mr Galloway has given police a full and frank interview and does not expect to face murder charges by the time the case goes to trial.

Two other men, including New Zealander Malakai Lui, have already been charged.
