A 19-year-old man has drowned at Haruru Falls in Northland.
The police say the man disappeared under the water at Lily Pond for some time before being located by family and ambulance staff at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
They say attempts to rescucitate him were unsuccessful.
The police say the identity of the man won't be released until his next of kin have been advised.
