A young girl suffered an electric shock while showering when the Wanaka Swimming Pool was struck by lightning on Wednesday afternoon.
Lakes Leisure chief executive Ruth Stokes says the girl did not need medical attention and was not injured.
The facility has been closed for the rest of the day as well as the outdoor Arrowtown Pool.
