A boat that put out a mayday call on Sunday afternoon has been taken under tow in the Marlborough Sounds.
Three adults and two children were onboard the boat when the distress call was made after the engine stopped while it was in Nikau Bay in Kenepuru Sounds.
Police say the boat is now under tow and is on its way to Picton.
