A woman has admitted kidnapping a toddler from her home north of Auckland.
Skye Mason, 28, appeared at Waitakere District Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to abducting Alyssa Barker in July.
The 17-month-old was taken from Makarau, near Kaukapakapa, and found more than a day later in the west Auckland suburb of Swanson.
The toddler's parents told police they had taken Mason in as she had been homeless.
Mason also admitted assaulting a police officer in July last year. She was remanded in custody while a psychiatric report is prepared.
