The death of a young man found in water near the Auckland harbour bridge is considered suspicious by police.
The man was found by a group of wakeboarders on Tuesday morning and his identity remains unknown.
Detective Sergeant Scott Hunter said initial indications are that the man drowned, but the death will be treated as suspicious until its discovered who he was and how he came to be in the water.
He said police have received a number of emails from the public about who the man might be.
