A woman has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition intensive care after falling two stories from a building in central Wellington.
The Wellington Free Ambulance say the incident was reported at 6.20am on Friday.
Wellington police acting area commander Terry Van Dillen says 25-year-old's fall from the Bute Street building in Te Aro appears to be accidental.
"It would appear the young lady has tried to gain access to a flat, as she hasn't had a key, and unfortunately has slipped and has landed up in hospital."
