Police investigating the death of a three-year-old girl have confirmed her injuries were not accidental and have launched a homicide inquiry.
Cherish Tahuri-Wright was found with head injuries at a house in Marton on 17 February.
She died in hospital after her life support was switched off.
Police say following consultations with medical experts, they are satisfied the girl's injuries could not have been caused by an accident.
The investigation is continuing.
