A former prison officer has been jailed for smuggling drugs and cigarettes to inmates at Spring Hill Prison in Waikato.
Perive Matuaitofiga, 25, pleaded guilty and was sentenced at the Hamilton District Court on Friday.
Matuaitofiga supplied cannabis and tobacco to prisoners and was caught in a random search of prison officers arriving at work.
He was jailed for two years and one month.
