A man is dead and another injured after a crash on a motorway off-ramp near Kaiapoi in Christchurch.
Senior Sergeant Phil Newton said a truck and a utility vehicle collided at 11.15am on Friday at the Lineside Road off-ramp.
The driver of the utility died at the scene and a passenger was taken to Christchurch Hospital.
The driver of the truck is reported to be unhurt.
