A man has died while helping to repair mowing equipment at a school in the Bay of Plenty.
Police were called to the grounds of Opotiki College about 3pm on Wednesday.
They say a local man, who was in his 70s, was helping with repairs when he was caught in the machinery and suffered fatal injuries.
The Department of Labour has been advised and the death will be referred to the coroner.
The man's name is expected to be released on Thursday after next-of-kin have been advised.
