A man has been charged with indecent assault, following complaints that a man tried to hug or kiss women in Christchurch's Port Hills area.
Detective Constable Fiona Croft says 10 charges of indecent assault have been laid against a 63-year-old Christchurch man.
The man appeared on Monday in the Christchurch District Court, where he was granted name suppression. He was remanded on bail to reappear on 11 February.
Ms Croft says the majority of the alleged offences took place between August last year and earlier in January this year, but one complaint dates back to 2010.
Police are continuing to talk to complainants and further charges are possible.
