The Waikato Times reports that Hamilton may soon be facing tighter water restrictions. Officials are expected to meet on Monday to discuss solutions to the city's water shortage - including charging businesses more for their water.
And a fire in Port Waikato on Sunday which burned more than 40 hectares of scrub is believed to have been caused by a car which got stuck in a sand dune. The blaze took almost four hours to be brought under control.

The Dominion Post reports that New Zealanders living temporarily in Australia could eventually win residency - but only after spending nearly a decade there.
Australian officials are proposing a pathway which would allow New Zealanders to gain permanent residency if they have lived there for eight years or more.
