Jetboating NZ reluctant to expel swan attacker

Jetboating New Zealand says it would rather not expel a member who has admitted running down swans on Tauranga Harbour.

Video of several black swans being hit by the speeding boat appeared online last week, triggering an investigation by the SPCA and Fish and Game.

Fish and Game says it is too early to say if anyone will be charged.

Jetboating New Zealand spokesperson Paul Mullan says a member has admitted that he is the driver in the video, but expulsion does not provide any useful resolution.

Mr Mullan says it would be better to let the member stay so the organisation can provide better guidance.
