Dry time in Auckland

11:21 am on 20 February 2013

It's been dry month so far in Auckland. Only about 25mm has fallen in the city in February, compared with a monthly average of about 75mm.

The city experienced its second driest January on record this year.

MetService forecaster Dan Corbett said although there was about 20mm of rain on two days, anti-cyclones have brought long fine spells and not much moisture.

He said it could be the end of the month or early March before there is any significant rainfall.
