No room for complacency after Telecom cyber attack - watchdog

A telecommunications watchdog says Telecom must remain vigilant after the company asserted its customers are no longer compromised following a major cyber attack.

Telecom says it has fixed the problems that caused 65,000 people to be locked out of their email accounts because of a spam attack on its Yahoo Xtra email accounts.

The chief executive of the Telecommunications Users Association, Paul Brislen, says although the problems are fixed for now, there is no room for complacency.

He says if a company is offering an email service it is very important it's secure.
